Vaping: What They’re Not Telling You

Fun, Interactive Look at Nicotine, the Brain, and How Students Get Hooked

Workshop Description

This high-energy, humorous vaping presentation gives students the straight facts about nicotine — without the lectures, scare tactics, or awkward “just say no” messaging.

Students learn what nicotine actually is, why it impacts the teenage brain differently than the adult brain, and how vaping products are intentionally engineered to increase repeat use. Through live questions, relatable examples, and interactive moments, students begin to see how flavors, social media trends, stress, boredom, and peer dynamics influence real-world decisions.

Rather than talking at students, this session invites them into the conversation. Students are asked to think first, respond, and explore possible answers before the science is revealed. When young people understand how their brain works — and how companies design products around that brain — awareness increases naturally.

The tone is respectful. The humor is strategic. The science is accurate. And the message sticks.

This presentation also addresses common myths students hear online, clarifies what “addiction” actually means, and explains how early nicotine exposure can shape long-term patterns. Students leave understanding not only the risks, but how environment, stress, and access influence behavior. That perspective reduces defensiveness and increases ownership.

Schools consistently report great results because students feel informed rather than judged. The goal is not fear — it is clarity. When students understand what is happening in their brain and why certain products are so difficult to quit, they are better equipped to make thoughtful decisions.
