Prevention Presentations for Communities and Families

Community groups and schools play a critical role in shaping the environments where young people grow, learn, and make decisions. I design my presentations to support that role by providing clear, current, and practical prevention education that respects both youth and the adults who care about them.

Instead of relying on fear or lectures, these sessions focus on understanding why young people make the choices they do—and how adults can respond in ways that actually reduce risk.

Topics Commonly addressed

I tailor each presentation for schools, community groups, parent organizations, coalitions, faith-based groups, and nonprofit partners, and may include:

  • Alcohol, Vaping, Marijuana, and Fentanyl
Clear, evidence-informed information that reflects today’s products, trends, and realities—not outdated assumptions.
  • How Young People Think and Decide
Specifically, this work offers a practical look at adolescent brain development and why environment, stress, boredom, and access matter more than most adults realize.
  • Drug Information for Parents
Guidance on how to talk about substances without lecturing, escalating conflict, or shutting down communication.
  • How to Make Your Home or Program “Addictive” in the Right Way
How connection, consistency, and meaning create environments young people want to be part of—reducing the pull of substances by meeting core human needs.

A Practical, Respectful Approach

At its core, these presentations follow a simple principle: when adults understand the landscape, they respond more effectively.

Participants leave with:

  • Greater clarity about current substance trends
  • Language that supports conversation instead of confrontation
  • A stronger understanding of how environment influences behavior
  • Practical strategies they can apply immediately in homes, schools, and programs

Designed for Today’s Reality

Substance trends change rapidly. To stay current, I regularly review and update all content to reflect current research, emerging products, and real-world feedback from communities across the country.

The goal is not to overwhelm—but to equip.

An Invitation

Strong prevention does not come from control or fear. It comes from connection, understanding, and high expectations.

If your community group is seeking prevention education that is grounded, relevant, and respectful of both youth and adults, this work is designed to support you.
