Travel Day on the Road to Youth Vaping Prevention Work

Travel is an essential part of my work as a national youth drug-prevention speaker, and days like this—navigating long airport security lines with hundreds of travelers—are a reminder of the commitment it takes to reach students, educators, and parents across the country. Whether speaking about vaping, marijuana, alcohol, or fentanyl, each presentation begins with a simple goal: arrive safely and deliver education that is honest, science-based, and engaging.

What struck me on this particular travel day was the diversity of people around me. Families, business travelers, and students all waited together, each with their own story. It reminded me why prevention education matters. Young people are exposed to misinformation everywhere, and our ability to meet them where they are—whether in middle school assemblies, credit-recovery programs, continuation schools, or parent nights—is only possible through consistent national outreach.

In recent weeks, students have shared comments such as, “You explained vaping in a way that finally made sense,” and “I didn’t realize how much nicotine changes your thinking.” Hearing feedback like this reinforces the importance of staying on the road, traveling state to state to spark healthier conversations.

Parent engagement is equally critical. Many families express deep appreciation for having complex drug topics explained without fear or judgment—just clarity, science, and humor. These meaningful interactions continue to motivate this nationwide effort.

If your school, district, or community organization is seeking an evidence-based, student-focused prevention program, I invite you to explore how we can partner together.
