My third day of the Elks DAP Alaska tour I presented two 45 minute presentations to students at Bartlett High School. We discussed alcohol and marijuana and the dangers associated with its use and the impacts it has on our bodies and minds. Students demonstrated the “fatal vision” goggles which simulates the feeling of intoxication and “walk the line” among their peers. Then this afternoon I conducted a 60 minute Anchorage School District staff training and a 60 minute evening parent training. In both trainings we discussed addiction and how to talk to youth about drugs and alcohol but don’t know how to get started. This training was open to Elks members, parents and community members. This tour was sponsored by the Elks Association State Drug Awareness Program (DAP).
Thanks for having us!
