This afternoon we conducted a 90-minute nurse’s visit for the Thermal, Coachella, Mecca, La Quinta, Palm Desert and Indio, California Youth Accountability Team (YAT) students. Our highly educated nurse brought their vast knowledge to this visit and gave the students insight into the professions in the medical field, the dangers of drug and alcohol related accidents and conducted a hands-on presentation that included various instruments that are used in a hospital setting. This was a great opportunity for students to learn about the many professions in the medical field and how to take the steps to obtain an education in this field. We had a great afternoon.
