High Expectations at the Desert Regional Hospital

April 26, 2014

Youth drug use is a significant problem in the United States with high recidivism rates. Considering these high recidivism rates in youths after an initial injury, we hypothesized a hospital-based drug prevention program aimed at increasing awareness, empowering positive conflict resolution, and promoting future vocational goals would benefit at-risk youth before they use again. Prevention Plus will educate local youth about drug use and increased their awareness of the dangers resulting from that use. In addition, at-risk youths will be exposed to career opportunities in health care.
