This morning I presented two 60 minute presentations to students at Nixon-Smiley Middle and High School, grades 7th-12th and Luling High School, grades 9th-12th. We discussed the dangers associated with opioid and prescription drug use and the impacts it has on our bodies and minds. Students were able to ask questions and interact with the presentation. Then this evening I conducted a 60 minute parent and community training located at the LISD Conference Center. We discussed ” Drug Talk 101″ which includes the dangers associated with opioid and prescription drug use. Many adults want to talk to adolescents about substance use but don’t know how to get started or how to engage their teens, this is a great place to start learning how.
